Seventeen years. That’s how long we have been planning for this day.
Seventeen years ago, Randy and I felt impressed that adoption was the next frontier for the pro-life movement. We started by opening our hearts and home to children. We then started helping others in their adoption journey. We did it believing that one day Roe v Wade would be overturned.
We sit on the verge of seeing that dream come true, but the battle isn’t over, it’s just shifting.
As the clock ticks with the nation awaiting the Supreme Court’s decision on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health and the potential reversal of Roe v. Wade, many voices are speaking into the realm of adoption and the need for agencies to be ready.
Pro-choice adoption agencies, claiming to fight for the non-traditional family, are beefing up their funding and staff in anticipation of certain states banning abortion. (Click to read more) In other words, if they can’t end the lives of children in the womb, they will make sure they go to people who think like they do.
Birthed in prayer for the ending of abortion, Zoe’s House has always stood at the ready, asking the Lord to release the spirit of adoption to women and children in desperate situations. Today, we continue to stand, but with more anticipation than ever, and the faith that seventeen years ago, we heard the word of the Lord.
