The JOY of Baby Miles….

Today I want to tell you about Matt, Emily, and Miles…..

Baby Miles’ birthparents were young and unsure of the future of their relationship when his birthmother discovered her pregnancy. Together, they decided that they were not in a place to raise a child together, but wanted to make an adoption plan.

Miles’ story is a beautiful example of the gift that open adoption can be. Even though they were young, his birthparents recognized that an open adoption could provide a vibrant path to what they wanted more than anything: for their son to know he is wanted and loved.

Because of you — our partners — Zoe’s House was here when Matt & Emily prepared to adopt. Miles’ is their first child, which is exactly what his birthparents looked for in a family. Your generosity made it possible for our team to serve both the adoptive and birth families in this beautiful open adoption.

Not all of our adoptions are open, but many are, and we love to

share what a rich and deep blessing they can be. Miles’ adoption

is a wonderful example of the gift that open adoption can be—

where both families have a healthy relationship with one another 

built around the love of the child between them.

Visits were frequent throughout the pregnancy, as these two families built their friendship and got to know each other.  By the end of the pregnancy, extended biological family was even included in the circle of love! Open adoption has given Miles the incalculable treasure of a big, wide, family of love.
