Dreams come true. An update on a Zoe Baby

We love to share updates with you from our Zoe babies. So here is a peek into Cannon’s toddler life. You play a vital role in his story – your gifts make all the difference to families like Cannon’s.

Cannon’s story….

A few years ago, a young expectant mom called our hotline needing help. She just received news of her pregnancy. She explained that her situation was complicated; she lived in a tent in the woods with her dog Scrappy. It was clear she would not be able to care for her baby and wanted to explore adoption. We asked if we could help her with her living situation and she said “no”; she lived in a community in the woods and did not want to leave it.

Our team would often pick her and Scrappy up to take her to appointments and we built a special relationship with her. We often ask our expectant parents, if they could dream for their child, what kind of family would they want their child to be raised in. Cannon’s birth mom said quickly, “A farm. I would love for him to be raised on a farm with animals.” We knew of one family who had been waiting a long time… and they had a farm with animals. Cannon’s birth mom saw their profile among all the others and knew, this was the family. This began a relationship with Joy, building a bond between birth mom and adoptive mom.

She said, “I don’t understand how they’ve been waiting so long to be chosen, they were my first choice. They must’ve just been waiting for me.”

Two dreams came true that day.

Two years later….

Cannon is thriving on his farm with animals all around. He loves riding in the Gator with his brother, finding the moon in the sky, creating music and turning anything into a drum… and the hope of his birth mom’s dream is being played out.

Thank you for making dreams come true for so many.

“Your tender hearts towards children has allowed our dream of adoption to become a reality.”  – Adoptive mom, Joy
