Unplanned Pregnancy FAQs
If you are not ready to be a parent, you can still give your baby the gift of life by choosing adoption.
That’s a tough question and there is no single, easy answer. Choosing adoption means you’ve chosen life, blessed a family with your gift, and that your child will grow up knowing you’ve made a loving, unselfish decision.
Absolutely! You can review profiles and pictures of our carefully prescreened families. Or, you can even choose a friend, family member, or someone who has been recommended to you.
That is up to you. Following the birth, you can hold your baby for as long as you choose. After your baby goes home to the adoptive family, you can receive pictures, letters and videos, and even arrange special visits in accordance with the adoption plan you choose. The adoptive parents will know of your wishes in advance and graciously respect your privacy as well as your need to know your child is loved and cared for.
Our adoptive families are carefully screened and have met every standard set by Zoe’s House and the state. A caseworker will make visits to the home following placement to ensure your child is well cared for.
The timing of your child’s placement depends on your choices, legal requirements, and the role of the birthfather. Many mothers desire their baby be placed with the adoptive family directly from the hospital, while other mothers prefer temporary care while they reflect on their adoption decision.
You do not need a lawyer; all legal details will be handled for you and the birthfather. Our services are free to you, and all legal and medical fees will be provided by the adoptive family after the adoption takes place.
Help with medical and living expenses is available in some cases. There will be an assessment of your particular circumstances.
